Lodging - old Hotel and Bush Camp

Redshield offers guests a choice of comfortable accommodation at the Redshield Hotel or a more rustic and wilder experience at the Mohave Bush Camp. Accommodation is on a self-catering basis.

Redshield Hotel

The Redshield Hotel is an old hotel and farm house that has recently been refurbished. Accommodation is comfortable, and all bedrooms have electric lighting and ceiling fans. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Meals (self-catered) are generally taken outside in the Lapa, and one can expect to have elephants as frequent "dinner" guests at the nearby water-hole.

With 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the Hotel can comfortably sleep 10 adults. Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery and linen are provided, rooms are serviced daily and the Hotel has cold storage for guests' food and beverages.

Mohave Bush Camp

The Bush Camp is definitely an unique bush experience. Rustic accommodation in thatched huts on the banks of the dry Mohave river, deep in the bushveld. Shower under a carpet of stars in the open-roofed showers, and revel in the lack of man-made noise. Sitting around the camp fire after a great day's activities... the bush can fill your imagination with a multitude of calls, from the laugh of a hyena, to the roar of a lion, and even the sounds of the elephant as they move through the bush, pushing trees out of the way. The camp huts can sleep 8-10 adults comfortably, but larger groups can be accommodated if guests bring tents or kiddy mattresses. Guests are required to bring their own bedding and camping/cooking utensils. (There are 8-10 beds with mattresses, and hot and cold running water. There is no electricity at the camp, but a small gas fridge can be rented upon request).
